We are nothing without food<\/p>\n<p>And mother has heaven domesticated in her pot<\/p>\n<p>You need not be born again to get salvation<\/p>\n<p>She is god in her own way, her shrine is the kitchen<\/p>\n<p>Even father bows to the chant of her utensils.<\/p>\n<p>Food is heaven and mother is a goddess<\/p>\n<p>Hunger is no friend of the belly<\/p>\n<p>Have you not seen how a starved stomach lays low?<\/p>\n<p>Like a tiger painstakingly stalking its prey.<\/p>\n<p>I have been to the eastern corner of paradise<\/p>\n<p>Where scintillating aroma hypnotises the nostrils<\/p>\n<p>As fish stocked soups channel morsels down the throat<\/p>\n<p>Have you not heard of the pumpkin leaved <em>edika-ikong<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>Oh! He reads, writes, speaks and appreciates creativity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><strong>NKWOBI JOINT | Nwagbo Ebubechukwu Bruno<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A goat who sought to please her master<\/p>\n<p>Went\u00a0to the woods and gathered some wood<\/p>\n<p>In the fire-place she cleared the ash<\/p>\n<p>And when the food was done she set the table<\/p>\n<p>Her master was so pleased that he said to her;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhat shall I do for you worthy servant?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>For what other service is greater than that<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Which you have done for me!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A man\u2019s stomach is important to him<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>For stilling my stomach\u2019s rubbles you steal my heart<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Ask whatever you may and I will do for you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>After seven days she returned to her master<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf the stomach is the way to the heart,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Then let me in into your heart<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Let those you love share this heart of love<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>When my soul leaves this mortal body,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Please make it immortal in the heart of friends<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In the hearth roast me don\u2019t let my soul rust in the termites bite.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Then seven days later <em>Nkwobi<\/em> got trapped<\/p>\n<p>Her master heard her cry and came to rescue<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWho has done this wickedness to my favourite maid?\u201d<\/em> he wept<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cShe has lost so much blood in an enemy\u2019s trap<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Ah! A wicked foe that can\u2019t harm me has maimed my favourite maid<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This maid died my death for me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Oh! There she lay, breathing her last<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMaster, remember my last wish?\u201d<\/em> she gasped<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThat you let me into your heart<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And that you share this heart to all you love.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Their master rushed out to call the doctor<\/p>\n<p>But before they returned, a knife has separated her head from her body<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAh!
