Eriata Oribhabor Food Poetry Contest 2015
The shortlist
The 3rd edition of the food poetry contest was declared open for submission on 15th November, 2015 with the theme – ‘These Words are Edible’. Upon closure on 15th January, 2016, entries totaling 222 were received from different countries of the world including Nigeria, India, United States, Brazil and Mexico. A panel chaired by Jumoke Verissimo was set up to assess the entries received, select publishable contents for the forthcoming anthology of food related poems and eventually come up with a shortlist of 10 poems, from which the top 3 poems will be awarded cash prizes; ₦40,000 ($200.95), ₦20,000 ($100.48) and ₦10,000 ($50.24) respectively.
Having critically observed the procedures stated above, we are pleased to announce the shortlist of the 2015 edition of Eriata Annual Food Poetry Contest. The shortlisted poems in no particular order are listed below:
