ACROSS THE OCEANS III (ISSUE 8)
TWO POEMS by Manthena Damodara Chary
THE PORTRAIT OF LOVE
Peerlessly pure passions paint the portrait
Scintillating sensations seize it all straight
Reverberating rapture captured in essence
Ecstasy overflows with all love’s eminence
The image of love reflects all resplendence
You cherish with all spiritual independence
Your portrait presents love in vivid colours
Your genuine love reigns defeating dollars
You are not at all a pack of bones and flesh
Your essence lies in spirit with scent afresh
You radiate fragrance of your lofty love alive
As your memory is embedded in love’s hive
Render your painting in all striking splendour
Refreshing image of love as worthy wonder
Love’s eternity transcends all our modernity
We must progress nurturing opulent affinity
WHEN I CHERISH A LOVELY LEAP…
My lofty living longs for loyal striving
Lengthening my endeavour for thriving
I relish with aplomb many a lovely leap
When people’s hearts intensely weep
When I go ahead with mission of peace
I find my peace spitefully broken apiece
I collect broken pieces for my noble task
Though I notice others with many a mask
My tireless toil looks an endless exercise
As people’s rancour is on repugnant rise
Prolific pen never notices hope crumbled
When perverts have the hearts grumbled
I nurture my love for this world immense
Respecting others with hatred so intense
My aplomb acquires consummate charm
Enrapturing my heart with altruism warm
