Prolific poet and President, Poets in Nigeria (PIN), Sir Eriata Oribhabor has collaborated with Tempt ‘n’ Crave, to plan a book unveiling event scheduled for Wednesday 31st July, 2019 at Virgin Rose Resorts, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Oribhabor, a foremost poetry promoter, who is fondly addressed as “The Merchant of Poetry” in literary circles, will present three poetry collections entitled “Walking Truths”, “That Beautiful Picture” and “Colours and Borders” to the Nigerian literati.
The event, under the distinguished chairmanship of Mr. Mordecai B.D. Ladan (former Director, Department of Petroleum Resources – DPR), will be graced by the following personalities: Alh. Ahmad R. Shakur (Acting Director, DPR), Mr. Wole Akinyosoye (Zonal Operations Controller, Lagos Zonal Office, DPR) and Mr. Yemi Adebiyi (Chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors, Lagos Branch).
There will be special performances by Hon. John Kutcheti (Africa’s Don Williams), Clementina Owumi (Solutionist) and House of Phoebe. The books, which affirm Sir Eriata’s literary fecundity, will be reviewed by Kolade Olanrewaju Freedom (Executive Secretary, PIN).
Meanwhile, PIN has forwarded special invitations to thirteen poets who were selected winners of PIN Food Poetry Contest 2018. They will be celebrated at the book unveiling event to be compered by Awodiya Funke (Author, The Farmer’s Daughter).
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sir Eriata Oribhabor is a prominent Nigerian poet, essayist, editor, social commentator, literary activist and Publisher at Something For Everybody Ventures (SFEV). A former Chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Abuja Chapter, he is the President, Poets in Nigeria (PIN) Initiative.
A prolific writer, Oribhabor has authored several poetry collections including; Crossroads and The Rubicon, Beautiful Poisons, Eriata on Marble, Shifting Rides of Poetikness, Random Thoughts on Poetry, Walking Truths, That Beautiful Picture, and Colours and Borders. His forthcoming titles include Twenty Eighteen, Gud Old Naija, Under Construction, UnUnited Nations of Nigeria (White man, black hearts), You have the Stage, and Spoken Call respectively.
As a foremost promoter of Naija Pidgin, he authored a book written in Naija Languej entitled – Abuja Na Kpangba an Oda Puem-Dem and edited an anthology of poems in the language entitled: If Yu Hie Se A De Prizin. Also, he edited a collection of plays written in Naija languej but due for translation to Naija pidgin entitled; AMEBO YARD. His forthcoming work in the language is, One leg forward, two leg backward.
