SPOKEN WAVES II (ISSUE 8)
Prince Charles is a 400-level student of Mass Communication in the University of Benin. The Festival Director of UNIBEN Literary Festival, Charles was the second runner-up at SOS 2017 and also the 1st runner-up at FOS Poetry Slam. He has graced several stages with his page to stage style such as UNIBEN Literary Festival, Bogobiri, Adire Festival Nigeria, etc.
WHY SPOKEN WORD?
The origin of poetry in Africa can be traced to the oral form so I said to 
myself if the people will not read then the poems should be taken to them in the form in which they are familiar with. This simply means coming back home to the initial form in which it was conceived.
WHAT DO YOU INTEND TO ACHIEVE WITH SPOKEN WORD?
I see it as a medium to tell tales that can provoke actions in individuals as well as be preserved for the future.
