Poets in Nigeria, organizers of the prestigious PIN Food Poetry Contest, have announced their intention to celebrate winners of the fifth edition of the food-themed prize at a book unveiling event of the President of the organization, Mr. Eriata Oribhabor.
The poets, numbering thirteen, were selected from amongst 128 entrants who submitted 161 poems. In appreciation of their outstanding entries, they will be awarded certificates of excellence and given room to read their winning poems to a poetry-loving audience at the highly anticipated event slated for Wednesday 31st July, 2019 (10 AM) at Virgin Rose Resorts, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The works expected to be read at the event are as follows:

- A FOOD DANCE, FOR YOU MAMA – Samuel Junior Irusota
- NIGERIA ON A PLATE – Teslim Opemipo Omipidan
- OF MEMORIES WE HOLD DEAR – Oyekunle Ifeoluwa Peter
- THE POWER OF ORYZA SATIVA – Aisagbonbu Success
- GONE FOREVER – Joseph Olamide Babalola
- MOVING ALTAR – Oshafi Abdulrasak

The PIN Annual Food Poetry Contest (initiated in 2013 as Eriata Oribhabor Food Poetry Contest) has produced four grand prize winners – Estrella Gada (2013), Mabel Okpaefi (2014) and Adedayo Adeyemi Agarau (2015/2016) and Adeolu Titus Adekunle (2017).
